FAQ
What people ask before boarding
Cancellation and weather
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the captain decides wind, waves or thunderstorms make the trip unsafe, the trip is postponed. You can pick a new date or receive a refund. The captain makes this call before departure and, if needed, during the trip.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel, the refund depends on how far ahead you cancel. The exact terms and the last day to cancel are sent in writing with your booking confirmation. The information on this page is a sample framework.
How is my booking confirmed?
Once the date and boat are set, we take a deposit and send a written confirmation. The WhatsApp message from the booking page only sends your request; availability and price are confirmed after that message.
Group size and kids
How many people can be on the boat?
The number of passengers can never exceed the limit on the vessel's Coast Guard paperwork. Children and infants count as passengers. Each boat's passenger limit is listed on its page.
Can we bring kids?
Yes. Child-size life jackets are on board; tell us your kids' ages and sizes when booking so we can have the right ones ready. Children should stay under adult supervision on deck.
Can we stay on the boat overnight?
Boats with cabins can be booked overnight as a private charter. The number of berths is listed on each boat's page, separately from the day-trip passenger limit.
Food and drinks
Is food included in the price?
Not by default. The price covers the captain, fuel and standard dock fees; food and drinks are extra. On boats with a galley, such as the schooners, a meal package can be added.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes, as much as fits in the cooler and fridge. Follow the captain's guidance on glass bottles and heavy items. Please tell us about allergies or dietary needs when you book.
Safety and licenses
Are the boats and captains licensed?
Carrying passengers for hire requires a US Coast Guard licensed captain, and boats that carry more than six paying passengers need a Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection. We list these numbers on the site and in your booking confirmation, and you can ask to see the documents at the dock. The numbers in this template are examples.
Are there life jackets?
There is a life jacket for every passenger, and child sizes are set aside if you tell us when booking. Before departure, the life jackets and the safety briefing are shown to all passengers.
I can't swim. Can I still come?
Yes. You can go in the water wearing a life jacket or stay on deck. Just let the captain know who can't swim.
Price and payment
How is the price calculated?
The price depends on the size of the boat, the date, the length of the trip and the route. The figures on the site are sample ranges; your exact price is confirmed in writing when you book.
Are fuel and marina fees included?
Fuel for the planned route and standard marina fees are included. If you go beyond the planned route, any extra fuel charge is confirmed in writing. Every quote lists what is and isn't included.
